Victor Martinez

Victor Martinez was born on July 29, 1973 in San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic. When Victor was still a child, his family moved to New York, they lived in the Washington Heights of the Manhattan Community. There Victor went to school and gradually began to “get up on his feet.” He liked to participate in sports competitions, for example, on baseball, basketball or football, and in competitions of this kind where is necessary physical preparation – and he had to deal with burdens.

Potential of Martinez was first noticed by Stefan Dickerson. He considered that the young athlete could take a worthy place in the world of professional bodybuilding, and played an important role in convincing Victor to seriously engage in bodybuilding and make a career in it. For Victor this person later became a very close friend.

Since 1998, Martinez has a personal coach – Victor Muñoz.

On January 18, 2008, Victor underwent surgery for a left knee tendon. He planned to defend his Arnold Classic title in March 2008, but was dropped from the contestants due to an injury. But Victor does not lose heart, and again and again storms the highest tops of bodybuilding. However, the stability of the results can not boast Victor, then occupying a place in the top three, then not even getting into the top six.

Victor Martinez is the second bodybuilder from the Dominican Republic, who received the professional status of the International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB). The first was Tony Domenech from Puerto Plata, who became a professional in 1995.

Martinez has seven sisters and two brothers, and more than 31 nieces and nephews. He also has two sons, Jared and Justin, as well as daughter Victoria.
